Deliveroo groceries - £8 per month worth it?

Recently bought deliveroo plus as I noticed Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and even some local shops are on it. Great value for £8 (as obviously there's even the option for a takeaway, although I rarely get one), however I've seen a serious lack of products in stock, even basic items like milk and bread. Is this because of the supply chain problems? When I went into the same stores they had all these products in stock, so it seems like for some reason they just aren't available on the app. Anyone else have this experience?

Do you have Amazon prime? Deliveroo plus is free for a year for prime customers.
I only use it for takeaways as my local stores are the same. Very limited products even though they are in store.

My local Aldi is on the list but can't offer the service as no drivers/cyclists are available. I'd be surprised if they have enough staff in store either. I don't use it myself but the cashier was telling me about it.

The thing you have to factor in is that this is not like a delivery pass for a supermarket - every individual item is marked up on Deliveroo, which makes your whole shop a lot more expensive.  This is because Deliveroo charges a commission of 15-20% on everything sold through it.

Taking Aldi for example, here are a few of the products available on Deliveroo locally to me:
    Salted Butter 250g - £1.65 (in-store £1.48)
    Strawberries 400g - £1.99 (in-store £1.75)
    Large Free Range Eggs 12 pack - £2.25 (in-store £1.89)
    Village Bakery Wholemeal Bread 800g - £0.62 (in-store £0.49)
    Chunky Chopped Tomatoes 400g - £0.49 (in-store £0.37)

The only one I could find that wasn't marked up much was fresh milk (2 pints, £0.83 vs £0.80 in-store).
None of the Everyday Essentials or Wonky fruit and veg are listed, either.  So all in all you will end up paying quite a big premium through Deliveroo.

Although, actually, most people will buy 4 pints milk in-store for £1.15 which is much better value, and that size isn't listed on Deliveroo.

If you have Amazon Prime, sign up via Amazon and you get Deliveroo Plus free for a year.

There is still a minimum order value of £25, and service fees still apply.
