Big ugly orb street light on our house

We live in a cul-de-sac of seven houses in a horse shoe, and live at the very centre at the end, right in the middle. On the front of the house is a huge round street lamp we call ‘the orb’, that looks awful and actually shines in to our neighbours bedrooms. We would much rather it not be there, but as it is, and against our wishes, are we able to charge rent or get a discount from a supplier for making us have it up there? It was already there when we bought the house if that matters.

Who owns this orb you say is on the front of the house , but also a street lamp .If its a street lamp in front of your hose but not on your property . Contact your local council .If it is a lamp attached to your house then your deeds/ house purchase survey should tell you what's what .0

Not sure who owns it, it was on the house when we bought it, but we will check the documents as you suggested. It’s the only light in the whole of the mews, and the council turned up a few days ago and replaced it with an LED thing of a different design which is now useless, and shines no light in the mews at all apart from a small concert type spotlight over the bonnet of our car0
