One (other) thing I don't quite get with that quote:

    10x Suntech Monocrystalline 360W panels (@£3500)
Solax 5.8kW triple power high voltage battery (@£3495)
If the solar panels are £3500 and the battery is £3495, that's £6995 - a reasonable price for the system as offered. So why is the total system price £11500?
Unless that's meant to be the price of the physical panels and all the rest of the kit - inverter roof rails, fitting etc. - is extra, in which case you're really being ripped off. This Austrian website prices suntech panels around 40c/watt, not the £1/watt that your installer is asking. (Bimble Solar have a range of panels at ~35p/watt similar to that Austrian price.)
    Yes there are extras:
    PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM (3.60 kWp) 5% 1,999

ELECSA ELECTRICAL BALANCE OF SYSTEM £501.00

    SCHLETTER GERMAN MOUNTING RAILS £515.00

    Thanks for the insight
Just go elsewhere.. that is a ridiculous quote...  eco renewables did  mine and my sons... way less expensive than that.

For £ 13.2 K across 2 sites we had 21 kWh storage and 6 kWh solar array 3 X 3.5 kWh batteries each and 20 panels on my sons roof split 10 on each face.

    3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch (£3.36 /W).
    17 Yingli 235 panels
    Sunnyboy 4000TL inverter
    Sunny Webox
Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since.

13 Feb 2020 LUX AC 3600 and 3 X Pylon Tech 3.5 kW batteries added...

20 January 2024 Daikin ASHP installed

Just got a quote from these guys, cheapest one yet.

they use limpets to mount the panels, which involve drilling through the slates, sounds a bit scary!
4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.

My son has Marley "concrete" tiles.. I think he had a standard rail type system so cannot comment on limpets... Tell them you have been chatting with me they may come down a little.  TBH we are both very happy with our systems.
I would be interested in what their quotes are compared to ours

They have agreed to use solar flash instead of limpets.

11x385w trina without a battery, solax x1 for £4795 over two elevations.

  • Unless you have an exceedingly difficult building to have an installation attached (castle, high rise tower, panels put up on a mast - maybe I exagerate just a tad!) and you want extra effort and gismos for no purpose.....
