It may only be £2.99, but there seems far too many people giving it negative reviews to justify buying it.

This item is rubbish. Cheap quality and is not a proper internal card reader as you have to connect it via a standard (as in external) USB port.

yes - It's cheap - But now you know why ;)

I really don't see why someone without the necessary facilities within their pc wouldn't be interested in this item, a lot of people are running on older systems and have all internal connections already allocated, this item gives the ability to insall within the chassis and connect via the usb hub thus overcoming the problem.

Yes if you have a decent spec newer model then this would be something of a white elephant but for reasons specified above is still worth a mention.
Some people are still waiting for their dell bargain and running on hamster operated systems and would be glad of such a device.

I had one of these (or a very similar one) and it was pretty cheap, but it worked fine (until I plugged into a miswired USB port and fried it). Unfortunately the free shipping has ended now they've sold out- I was going to backorder one but no such luck:(.

Edit: got home, followed the link from the eblast on my home computer and it let me put in a backorder with free shipping. Just got to wait and see if I get it now.
