Rosacea/facial redness

I’m just wondering what over-the-counter products to buy that work to help with rosacea/redness on face. I would appreciate any recommendations/ personal experiences for managing it.

I have mild facial redness and swapped my Olay day + night cream for Aveeno moisturiser, the standard green one.
This was mainly because I was getting so many excema breakouts.
Been using it a few months and it's massively improved my skin, one tiny incident of excema, one mild acne breakout, a transformation in the texture of my skin and in a very small way my overall complexion including rendess has improved.
Started off using once a day, now using it twice daily. Also now use it all over body.
The main ingredient is prebiotic colloidal oatmeal, I did some research beforehand and was impressed by what I read, which has certainly been borne out in the results.
I usually buy from Amazon or Savers as it can be quite a few pounds more elsewhere.1 -
I have mild rosacea and found I cannot use many brands of skin care. If I have a flair up I have to get the prescription cream/gel. The sun is not good for me, so I wear spf 50 all year on my face. Anything with retinols etc, I cannot use.Honestly it can be trial and error finding what sets your own off it can be different of each person. I used to use Argan oil as it was supposed to be good for setting rosacea. So I bought pure no fragranced version, and it was fine. The simpler routine is usually better.1

Thank you for the replies and recommendations. I have used Aveeno before, not on face though, might give it a try.I've bought a Freederm Overnight Skin Repair for now, I've read about niacinamide being good for redness. Will see how it goes.0

If Freederm or Aveeno don't work, you could try Dream Cream from Lush. I used it when I was having really bad rosacea flare-ups and it calmed my skin down. It has quite a strong smell so if you are sensitive to smell, you might not like it. Aveeno is very good and I use it to keep my skin calm but I find Dream Cream more effective during major flare-ups and Aveeno better afterwards. Like donnac2558 says, everyone has different triggers. My GP gave me various prescription creams which helped with immediate flare-ups but the problem kept coming back. Rosacea made my face so sensitive that even water made my face feel like it was on fire. My GP helped me to pinpoint that my flare-ups coincided with major stress issues. I use a meditation app and this has helped me (it could be coincidence but it has been years now so I think it must work, or I've been lucky
). Other causes could be specific foods etc. If you can pinpoint what triggers your rosacea, that should help you manage it. Even if your rosacea is mild, I think it's worth trying to figure out what is triggering it so you can prevent it from getting worse or flaring up as often. Good luck and hope your skin improves.

Keeping eyes / eyelashes clear really helps too. Blepharitis can contribute to rosacea. I was recommended to use OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Eyelid Cleanser which makes a huge difference. In the past I used to clean my eyelids with tea tree oil mixed with macadamia nut oil which also helped greatly.
