Any experience with Shein?

As per the title really, do any of you knowledgeable people have any experience with the clothng site Shein please?
I've seen some items on there that I like the look of but they have very mixed reviews. I know it is a Chinese company so the clothes aren't going to be top quality, but they are just for casual wear anyway (dog walking etc) so that's not really an issue. I'm more concerned about refunds if anything goes wrong as even at their prices, I can't afford to be out of pocket
Any thoughts welcome

Well, Shein is now a massive retailer worldwide, so I don't think you'll have any bother sending items back.
I'd not use them because their ethics are in doubt and their publicity is not good.
Sadly, consumers rush to buy their stuff because it's so cheap. You're probably better off at H&M or Primark if you want cheap fashion items.
Have a google for yourself. Find out what they are up to.Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Thanks for the input, I am aware of their ethics (or lack of) but in honesty, I need to put clothes on our backs for the winter so I'm afraid that comes first. Primark don't offer home delivery unfortunately and H&M are more expensive on most items. My quest continues!! Again, thanks for your input0

I used them a few months ago for cushion covers, quality average I suppose. Delivery reasonably quick.1

I ordered five items from them a few months ago. The quality was poor, the fabric felt cheap, the clothes felt poorly made and the cut of several items were weird (size 18 chest with what felt like a size 14 bottom in one jumpsuit) and I sent all but one item back. That was a beach dress, and cheap-quick-drying fabric is what was needed.
Have you thought about George at Asda or Matalan? They both do online shopping and delivery. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Thanks again for your repliesI do usually use George at Asda but to be honest I wasn't really liking any of their styles this year so I was looking around and Shein caught my eye because they have some items that I quite like the look ofI think based on these comments and also other research I will probably give Shein a swerve for now, maybe try them in the summer when lighter fabric is needed like you say @bargainbettyFalse economy to buy clothing because it's cheap and still be freezing2

Tu in Sainsbury's does not seem too bad.

Have you considered looking in charity shops?
I've had some good leggings - Nike, Adidas etc - that I use for gardening in cooler months.
I've also bought some coats and jackets, including a BNWT Crew Clothing feather and down jacket that I paid £20.00 for - original price £100.
I think I'd prefer quality brands that may have been worn a few times rather than a cheap brand.0 -
I’m a TikTok fan and there are loads of Shein try-ons (sometimes called unboxing). Often the clothes look like rags, too tight, thin fabric, seams not sewn, a print of a knit on thin polyester instead of being knitted. I’ve not bought clothes for ages, but someone on TikTok compared M&S with Primark and a lot of the items were similar in price (cardi, jeans, knickers).1

The stuff I purchased has been okay!I would say it's very hit and miss and the quality isn't the best.
It's better probably to go to Primark and at least you can see the clothing.0 -
Not sure about Shein but I tried LightInTheBox a couple of times for some really nice swim & diving clothes although lots of clothes their too online - perhaps not the cheapest and no experience of returns although I think process isn’t an issue and they have an iphone app too.
Goods are not always the fastest to arrive but were eventually delivered just fine and available in a good range of sizes too.0
