It's part of a deal with the government to give TfL some funding. TfL have also agreed to change the pension scheme to make it cheaper and to look into driverless trains. They've already scrapped the night tube drivers job forcing the day time drivers to also work the nights when it restarts. So we look forward to a series of strikes coming about from all these issues.
