SA 1 self assessment form . Using this form to get a UTR for a minor. It asks the normal name , address, NINO , the tax yr the form is for and a list of reasons to choose from, for your filling in the form.(in this case its CGT) Last space asks to give any other reason for filling in . Under that , it says What date does this apply from ? Finally you sign and date. I cant find any notes for SA1 , and Im not sure what date the 'what date does this apply from ' refers to ? Anyone help please before I try ringing HMRC?

Presumably it is the beginning of the tax year (6 April) in which the gain was made.0
-
But it already asked what tax yr the form is for, at the beginning ?

It may just be relevant for the box above, "any other reason". I agree it is not obvious.1

Thank you Jeremy. It is a bit misleading isnt it , but I came to the same conclusion as you after 'sleeping on it' last night .0
