I would like to retire before I am 50. So I have 1688 days left, which is 1 day before my 50th birthday.
Currently have 0 savings, 0 mortgage.0 debt.
I need to save about £250 a day in order to achieve my aim.
That would give me and the wife about £5k a month to live on until I can start drawing my pension at 57.
Let’s go.
Debt free. March 2020
Mortgage free-August 2021
Planned retirement date- 19/5/2026
£29500 saved. Target £420000(19/05/2026)

No question or point. I have used these forums for years. From debt free, to mortgage free and now job free.
Its good tracking for myself to see where I started. If I continue to be on track. What I need to do to get back on track.I missed my debt free date by about a year. These posts were handy to see where I went wrong, my mindset at the time, etc etc.
It’s actually remarkable as I look through old posts of mine how my attitude has changed. How my goals have changed, my outlook, my risks to finances.Debt free. March 2020

Best of luck. Saving £250 a day is quite a commitmentIt's just my opinion and not advice.0

Maybe self employment? No question or point. I have used these forums for years. From debt free, to mortgage free and now job free.0 -
So, you need to save c£400k in 4.5 years?
I'm assuming you can afford to save that?
How do you intend doing it?
Do you have a plan?
Good luck. It'll be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end....0 -
The op did say this so who knows where the money is coming from?
Maybe self employment?I'd have thought so..... after all, if asked "What's your job", a person could reply " I work as a pilot" whether he flew his own plane or his employer's.
I suppose the OP's wife could have a well paid job and be gifting him £250 a day.......
Or he has generous friends and relations......
