Delighted with our endowment policy that we took out on our first home 25 years ago. We sold the house 17 years ago and moved to a repayment mortgage (which we managed to pay off 3 years ago) but kept the endowment running as a savings / life insurance policy.
It was guaranteed to pay out £42,500 and the statement in April said it's surrender value was just over £45k. Amount paid into the bank this morning £56,315
No paperwork from them yet but I'm happy.

Feb 2008, 20year lifetime tracker with "Sproggit and Sylvester"... 0.14% + base for 2 years, then 0.99% + base for life of mortgage...base was 5.5% in 2008...but not for long. Credit to my mortgage broker0
