I want to buy two books from amazon.com for 49 us dollars will is the cheapest. will i have to pay any extra fees, is it worth it.

I'm pretty sure books are not taxed, so you shouldn't have to pay anything other than shippingNot buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!0

Most Books are zero rated (the only exceptions are those books that come with other items, such as CD's - such as Computer books - on which tax is levyable as far as I understand it) so you should be able to buy as much as you like - as long as you can afford the shipping charges!

If the goods are marked as merchandise (very likely) you will have to pay customs duty, and possibly a handiling charge. Fees start after the first £18/$36, so you'd be looking at import duty on about $15.0

To expand on my earlier post; According to the HMRC website Books are Zero rated for Excise duty and Zero Rated in most cases for VAT.
