Impossible to get date to show correctly on Senior Railcard site

Filling in the online form and most things worked fine. However, when it came to date of birth, the directions are that the style is Day/Month/Year which we used, naturally. It then told us to use the proper style... We had a couple more tries, in case we had mistyped, without success.
We then tried every variation we could think of and it seemed to accept Year-Month-Day style (with hyphens) - until you hit the Continue button when it then told us to use the given style. I'd be interested to know if others have met and beaten this problem. Especially if they managed without using language that would get us thrown off the forum
We have just contacted the "secure.railcard.co.uk" but it's late on a Friday...

On this webpage - secure.railcard.co.uk/purchase/senior/holder-details - there is a box...
Clicking on the question mark shows us...
Entering 24/09/1944 works.
To enter the date, click on dd and type the number - e.g. 24.
Then click on mm and enter the number - e.g. 03.
Do the same for yyyy - e.g. 1944.
Are you using a mobile telephone? If so, things might be different.

Running Safari on a Mac. At first I was deleting the letters and typing the figures in as per the blue box. I'll give your suggestion a try and let you know how I get on. However, I don't think it's what you would call intuitive for old codgers like me
Just thought - If I'm unsuccessful I could try Firefox on my wife's laptop.
Thank you for your response0 -
I'm guessing that you are trying to type in the / character, but those appear to be coded into the site.
So you are typing 24/03/1944
But because the spacing and / characters are coded, it is actually recording 24//0/3/19 (and the 44 gets ignored)
Try just typing 24031944 instead and letting it move along for you ...:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

It works for old codgers like me.
I've been eligible for a Senior Railcard for over fifteen years.0
