Income Tax

Can anyone help me please? I am employed as a Casual Exam Invigilator which is about 6 weeks work per year. I am not contracted to any particular days or times. They tell me what they need cover for and if I am available then I work. At the most I would earn £1500 p/a doing this. I recently have joined the NHS Ambulance Patient Transport Service as a call handler. This is on a zero hours bank contract. Again I let them know when I am available to work and they give me any shifts in that period where they require cover. At the most I would potentially earn £7800 p/a. So both jobs combined the maximum I will earn in a year is £9300. I am in the UK - England.
So a couple of questions please:
Will I have to pay any income tax?
Before I gained employment I applied for the marriage tax allowance to transfer my allowance to my husband. Can I still transfer any of my tax allowance to my husband through the Marriage Tax Allowance?  My husband earns approx £32000 p/a.
Thanks in advance.

  • If your only taxable income is £9,300 then ultimately no, you won't pay any tax.

You can leave your Marriage Allowance application in place and have a reduced Personal Allowance of £11,310 and still pay no tax.
