Hi all.  Thanks in advance for any help.

My daughter has received a letter from Westcot at her (new) home but addressed to her dad.  It says they are attempting to contact him and have been provided with this address and she should contact Westcot if the information held is wrong.

Obviously, the info is wrong and all she knows about her father’s whereabouts is that he’s somewhere miles away living in a caravan.  She speaks with him semi regularly but has no other contact.

I know he had unpaid tax arrears and I’m assuming, as she’s never lived with him but he did claim CHB for her, that this is an HMRC debt.

The question is should she write to Westcot saying that the person concerned doesn’t and never has lived at her address and that she has no idea of his whereabouts or ignore? Or something else? She’s in a flat share and is very worried the debt collectors will come knocking and her landlord will kick her out.

Thank you
