Paying off partners mortgage.

Hi all,

I have recently been offered 80k as a gift from a relative. My intention is to use the money to pay off the majority of the mortgage on my partners flat that we live in with our three children. We are both adults and aware that 'life' happens and we would both like to cover ourselves legally to ensure we each have a 50/50 stake in the property if something were to happen to our relationship. The mortgage is currently in my partners name but I make the monthly payments and we both have current wills. Moving forward, what documents would we need to reflect that we both have a share in the property should any issues arise in the future?

Thanks in advance
