Well, I've sat on the sidelines for long enough, it's time to sort our life (and debts) once and for all.
We've always had a difficult relationship with money, never earning enough to be "comfortable", and as time has gone by we've just added to the list of unpaid debts, as our circumstances (and priorities) have changed.
