Mortgage on a skilled worker visa

Options
Hi,

I'm planning to come over to the UK on a 5 year skilled worker visa.
Has any one had any success in getting a mortgage (with one of the main retail banks) without being a permanent resident? The visa will allow me to get residency after 5 years but I'm not sure if that matters or not.

I'll have 20% (possibly more) deposit and good credit history (overseas of course).

Thank you.

you need a credit history in this country ideally. You will need to consult a broker on this as it is a specialist area.
