So I’ve been paying a CCJ by DD monthly for almost 5 years… and a debt collector company has started text messaging me saying my “Payment Plan” is about to end, that I should contact them to make an alternative payment plan…
As far as I know they’re a different company to the one that took the debt to court…
I’ve not contacted them, but they’re extremely persistent.
- Is there a time limit on how long a CCJ should be paid?
- Are they allowed to ask me to request I make alternative payment arrangements?
Any advice appreciated…
Thanks

No there's no limit
If you're paying what a court ordered then they would have to apply to court to 'vary' the order.
If what you're paying is affordable just carry on. As a general principle you should ignore text messages anyway.1 -
It is well worth keeping an eye on when you will have reached the point of having cleared the debt, as chances are nobody will tell you!
Personally I'd block the telephone number the texts are coming from. If they have anything legitimate to say to you then they can put it in writing. Currently they are just - ahem - "male cow excrementing" you!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The texts are every three days now … Sadly, I’ve recently suffered two family bereavements so It’s getting to the point of really upsetting me, but, they’re not gonna win, I’ll definitely refrain from making contact…
