FTB - Concrete in situ house.

My partner and I love this house we viewed recently. Only issue is that it is concrete. It was built around 1920 (pre war) and other houses on that street have also been bought recently.

Anyone have any experience with getting mortgage on concrete properties? Really worried that if we go ahead, there will be major issues based on some of the horror stories I've read online.

  • Like a concrete prefab house? With a concrete slab floor and put together in sections?

There's limited lenders for those properties.

Find a good broker if you're determined to buy it.

Have a full structural survey, including the inside roof area.

Be aware if you want to sell in the future, it's a limited selection of buyers and may be even limited lenders at that point.

It's possible to put a brick skin on them, costs a lot, but opens up the pool of lenders.

Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
