When to nominate Holiday home as Primary residence

We have owned a holiday home for > 2 years. We are selling our Primary residence. Our Holiday home will become our Primary residence.
In order to minimise the amount of CGT due in the future (when we sell our new Primary residence) are we allowed to nominate our Holiday home as our Primary residence now (some 3 or 4 months before the actual sale of our existing Primary residence)? ---- the advantage to us would be that a larger portion of any increase in value would not be subject to CGT
Having thought about this a little more as I've typed this, I think I know the answer, but would appreciate another opinion from the tax experts that are around on this board

This is answered in HS283:

"You can nominate which residence is to be treated as your main residence for any period. Your nomination must be made within 2 years of the date you first have a particular combination of residences. If there’s a change in your combination of residences, a new 2-year period begins. If you do not make a nomination, the question of which is your main residence will be determined on the facts."
