    thanks all for your replies, checked today and haven't been paid for September - payday would have been yesterday - so have put the money to one side. As they're a multinational company Id imagine the odd payment does slip through the net.

    It's when, not if. Just a case of when the successful audit takes place that highlights it. 

    They are not allowed to just take it back, even if you are still working for them. They are entitled to it but have to consult on repayment.
    I remember my old man telling me about when he was overpaid some expenses in the 80s/90s. He told them about it but nobody did anything and I doubt they’re going to come after him now for it!

    I think they only have 5 years to find errors and start proceedings to get it back. I think he's safe ☺️
