Northern delay repay requires an image of my ticket but it was taken by the machine when I reached my destination. I contacted them and they said I need to contact LNER.co uk where I bought ticket. LNER say nothing to do with them contact Northern!

That is unfortunately a tough lesson learned. When on a delayed journey you could take a photo of your ticket before arrival, or you could go through the staffed barrier, show the ticket and ask the person there to let you keep the ticket for claim purposes. Just chalk it up to experience.0

A ticket is required to travel, it is not a proof of purchase. Always request a receipt.0

Did you buy the ticket online?E-tickets avoid this problem but even with a paper ticket, if it was bought online, the booking confirmation email should suffice.I recommend taking a photograph of the ticket before placing it in any ticket gates0
