Advice needed please Resolvecall.

Hi all, about two months ago i started getting letters from a company called Resolvecall demanding £2k that i owe them. A quick google of the name told me that they were debt collectors. This morning i had a guy turn up at the house refusing to tell me anything unless i confirmed who i was. (At this point i had forgotten about the letters as i had only been sent two) i refused to tell him anything and he refused to tell me who Resolvecall were as it would be ''in breach of the data collection act'' He just kept waving his ID badge at me and telling me he was genuine. The thing is i don't owe anyone £2k. I've never ran up a bill that high.
Using Credit Karma i have gone back through my credit file. It is showing no defaults. So i am guessing this debt is statue barred.
I think i know what this is about. Years ago i had a Nationwide account, and yes i admit i owed them money, about £200 but personal stuff got in the way, ( i was dealing with the death of my partner so most of the time i wasn't sure about anything.)
This ''collector'' threatened to come back with 'help' (but i know this is an empty threat.)
So what can i do?

Well sending a bloke to wave his ID badge at you seems a bit of a waste of everyone's time. Until they send a sensible letter, telling you why they allege you owe them 2k, this doesn't get off the starting blocks.
You shouldn't assume that you know what this is.
Next time they send a letter, reply with a prove-it (in the sticky threads)2 -
