Sleepover seems to have gone well - I'll be picking up DD1 in about an hour. Until then the house is empty, so I'm relaxing by erm... doing spreadsheets, paying bills and applying to join a Ripple Energy windfarm project (apologies to the Ripple-y person who posts on MFW and who I forgot to get a referral from)!
From what I can see, it appears to be essentially a small investment in a wind or solar farm that is structured to last 25 years and offset your electricity bills? The expected savings looks reasonable for the upfront investment (£3,000 or so but I think I estimated we'd need more shares than we actually use, my energy supplier is poor for providing data in a usable format). I think it could help us a) protect against the next energy shock and b) could be a useful counterpart for our FIT payments, which will last for another 12 years. Isn't it funny to have to plan things over a decade away?£45.14 paid off CC, £1.80 earned on ProlificPs. @themadvix - is there a named project? I just signed up, haven't had a chance to read any comms from them7

Yes, there’s Kirk Hill, the second one, which is now sold out, so you won’t get that, which is in Galloway. Details of all the projects are on the website - I think the third one might be solar, rather than wind.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Drum roll please!......Due to aggressive CC repayments and virement, we are back in the black for the first time in a long time
Granted, it is only £67 and we will likely go back into the red as Mrs E is getting her lowest/last wage during maternity leave at the end of January and I don't get paid until the 7th of February. Still, I am very familiar with the up/down saw pattern that our balances follow during the course of the monthly cycle and the "up" leg hasn't taken us into the black for absolutely ages.
I am now praying for no unexpected expenses between now and February15 -
Well done - you've worked hard at that. Fingers crossed for no unexpected expenses for you.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
