MINI Electric on CAPITAL, CAPITAL DANCE, CAPITAL XTRA, HEART, SMOOTH, RADIO X, CLASSIC FM, LBC, GOLD, Sept-Oct 2021 – Specific Rules 

1. The MINI Electric promotion (‘Promotion’) is organised by Global Charities (as defined in the Global’s Make Some Noise Competition Terms and Conditions). The Promotion will run from 9th September 2021 to 8th October 2021 on CAPITAL, CAPITAL DANCE, CAPITAL XTRA, HEART (digital stations only), SMOOTH, RADIO X, CLASSIC FM, LBC, GOLD. Global Charities is the Promoter. The ‘Prize Donor’ mentioned in these Specific Rules is Auto Trader. 

2. IMPORTANT: The Promotion is subject to these Specific Rules and the Global’s Make Some Noise Competition Terms and Conditions which are available here. Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions.  

Details of the Promotion: 

3. To enter the Promotion, you must send a text message with the relevant keyword to one of the following radio stations’ shortcodes (the “Text Message Line”):

4. The Text Message Line will open at 12:00 on Thursday 9th September 2021 and close at 22:00 on Friday 8th October 2021. Entries received before or after this time will not be included in the Promotion but may still be charged.  

5. We are not responsible for any latency experienced by your mobile phone network, which may delay the delivery of text messages to and/or from us. 

6. Text messages will be charged at standard network rates. Standard rate text messages to promotion shortcodes are not normally included in ‘inclusive’ packages and may be charged. If entry is made by text message, be sure to use the correct shortcode. In all cases, please check with your service provider for more details and charges. If you are not the bill payer, you must obtain the bill payer’s permission before entering. 

7. After entering the Promotion, you will receive a bounce back text message informing you that a voluntary donation to Global’s Make Some Noise (registered charity 1091657(England & Wales) & SC041475 (Scotland)) of £5 will be taken automatically, unless you text the word CANCEL as instructed. The £5 donation will be taken one hour (60 minutes) after the time the first text was received from the mobile phone used to enter the Promotion, and 100% of the donation will go to Global’s Make Some Noise. 

8. For the avoidance of doubt, you do not need to donate in order to be eligible for entry to the Promotion. Anyone who texts CANCEL as instructed in the first bounceback message and thereby opts out of donating £5 to Global’s Make Some Noise will still be included in the prize draw. 

9. Within 7 days of the closing time of the Promotion, all eligible entries will be entered into a draw. One correct entry will be selected at random and the entrant will be contacted by one of our representatives via SMS or telephone on the number on which you entered. If the entry is ineligible, we reserve the right to select another entrant to participate in the Promotion or withdraw the prize and select another entrant, as applicable. 

10. We and the prize provider may publish and publicise your name, image, social media handle and/or profile picture, your nearest geographical location (for example, your nearest city, town or county) and your entry, and we may refer to your association with the Promotion and/or the prize, in any and all media, worldwide, in perpetuity, for publicity and PR purposes solely in connection with the Promotion.   

11. In relation to winners (and runners up if applicable), you understand that we may: (i) interview you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) which we may film, photograph and/or record and; (ii) film, photograph and/or record, you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) in connection with the Promotion, either by telephone or in person, and we may use such films, recordings and/or photographs for publicity and PR purposes in any and all media, worldwide, as often and for as long as we consider appropriate or desirable, in connection with the Promotion. We may also publish your and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) name, image, social media handle and/or profile picture. 

Eligibility: 

12. The Promotion is only open to residents of the UK aged 18 and over, and who are based in the UK at the time of entry. 

13. Entrants can enter up to 6 times only, however they must text CANCEL as instructed after each entry to opt out of donating £5 to Global’s Make Some Noise.  

Prize specific terms:  

14. One winning entrant will receive a brand new MINI Electric and £500 in cash to spend on the installation of an electric vehicle home charging point.  

15. We will endeavour to transfer the prize money to your bank account within 28 days but are not responsible for any delays. You must provide all necessary details via the method directed within 14 days after the original request to do so otherwise the prize will be forfeited in our discretion. 

16. This is a four-seat, 3-door MINI Electric car in Silver White with yellow wing mirrors. It has 184 HP (135kW) and a 140-145 mile range on a full charge. The wheels are 16” light alloy Revolite Spoke wheels. The upholstery is sports seats with cloth Double Stripe in Carbon Black and the interior surface is Piano Black. It features LED headlights and rear lights, Radio MINI Visual Boost with 8.8” touchdisplay and a multifunctional sport leather steering wheel as standard. 

17. The vehicle colour will be dependent on stock availability at the time of winner confirmation. 

18. Insurance is not included. If the prize is to be driven on a public highway, insurance cover must be obtained by the winner prior to collection of the Prize.  

19. Maintenance, services and running costs of the vehicle are the responsibility of the winner from the date of ownership. This date will be confirmed with the winner in writing following winner acknowledgement of the prize 

20. The Prize is exempt from road tax as it is a fully electric vehicle. 

21. Registration is included and will be arranged upon delivery of the car.

22. To qualify for a home charging unit you must be able to park your car somewhere private and off-road. E.g. a garage or a driveway. 

23. If you own your own property and your property is listed, or in a conservation area, check with your local planning department before arranging installation. 

24. If you rent your property, you should get permission from your landlord. 

25. Full installation for a home charging point should cost around £449 and you may be eligible for a grant towards this. You can check by visiting the government’s Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme. 

26. The winner must have and must show a valid full UK driving licence prior to collecting the Prize. 

27. The winner will be asked to prove they are a resident of the UK. 

28. The prize provider will need your full name, email address and phone number to contact you about the delivery of your prize 

29. The prize will be available for home delivery if the winner does not wish to, or is unable to receive delivery of the car to their chosen address, they can travel to their local dealership for collection. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by Auto Trader up to the value of £200. Auto Trader requires: 

• Proof of cost of travel (taxi receipts, train tickets etc)  
• Bank account number and sort code 
• The expenses will be reimbursed within 30 days of receipt of the travel receipts. 

30. Winners will be notified within 28 days of acceptance of the Prize to arrange delivery of the Prize. Delivery of the vehicle can take up to 90 days. 

31. Any other costs and expenses which are not specifically included in the prize description are excluded and will be the sole responsibility of the winner. By way of example, without limitation, car insurance is not included within the prize. 

32. The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and not for resale.  

33. This is a charity Promotion and as such no refunds are given. 

34. We reserve the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value at our absolute discretion.

Data Protection: 

36. Your personal data, will be collected and processed by us, our licensees (including Communicorp UK Limited), as well as the prize providers, and if applicable, our service providers, network operators and suppliers in order to administer and fulfil the Promotion. Your personal data may also be disclosed to the Phone-paid Services Authority, Ofcom and/or the Advertising Standards Authority at their reasonable request for regulatory purposes, for example, in order to prevent, investigate and detect crime, fraud or anti-social behaviour and comply with law enforcement agencies and applicable advertising codes.    

37. We may hold your personal data for a period of 3 years in order to comply with our regulatory obligations.  

38. You may be asked if you want to opt-in to marketing from us when you enter a Promotion. If you choose to opt-in, we will use your personal data for marketing purposes (see our Privacy Policy for more details). You can opt out at any time.  

39. We, and the prize providers may transfer and process personal data outside of the EEA and UK for the purposes of administering the Promotion. 

40. By entering a Promotion, you acknowledge that any personal data provided by you in connection with the Promotion will be processed as set out above and in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which sets out full details of how we process personal data and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject. Please ensure you have read and understood our Privacy Policy before entering any Promotion. 

41. You may request the removal of your personal details from our database by contacting privacy@global.com. If you request that your personal details be removed prior to the conclusion of a Promotion, you will forfeit your right to enter the Promotion and/or claim any prize and we reserve the right to select another entrant to participate in the Promotion or withdraw the prize and select another winner, as applicable.
