Another walking distance to the beach person here! 😁
I've lived here for over 20 years and really haven't made much use of the beach since I lost my last dog just over 6 years ago but I left work recently and my new plans include getting down there at least 2-3 times a week. Like you, my beach is very quiet most of the time - it's not a tourist area so is mainly visited only by dog walking locals so is frequently deserted 😁
I'm glad you've sorted your budget and are getting to grips with your garden, it sounds like moving house was an excellent decision for you! 🙌DNF: £708.92/£1000

Trying to be a walking distance from the beach person. It is proving harder than I thought!
Glad you enjoyed the fringe. Edinburgh during the ring really is something special atmosphere wise.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Recently we've had a lot of houses going up for sale that just aren't selling anymore. During the lockdown so many people were snapping up properties there was little up for sale for long, and those that were sold for much much more than original asking price. Now, the houses are going up at a premium price, not shifting and then reducing by large amounts. I also think that with this cost of living crisis and people being told to be in the office more we could see another shift as some may need to sell quickly and move back closer to London.
I've been told that they're going to ask us to get into the office more often. I'm not sure of how often at this point, but we'll see how it goes.
@doingitanyway you may be able to grab house close to the beach for a decent price again soon. I guess it just depends on where you want to live.
@savingholmes we are lucky in the UK that visiting the beach is generally a reasonable car journey, so hopefully you're still managing to get lovely beach times.Debt on 01 July 2022 = £42,083.00

I had an amazing weekend. I had friends visiting and so I put together a choice of activities to do if we wanted to. This worked out great as each day we had a plan of where we wanted to go. On Saturday we visited a food and drink fair at one of the National Trust stately homes. That wasn't a large as expected, but it was a great place to visit. We got some really fresh food and I managed to get some fresh honeycomb too. I don't like honey, but I love it when it's not been processed into a jar. We then went off to a nearby seaside town and had lunch and then an ice cream.
On Sunday I'd booked us a glass blowing experience which was so much fun. We watched a glass making demo first and then we got to "blow" the piece we had chosen to make. I made a bowl. After that we came home and then took a walk down to the beach. I had an ice cream on the sea front and they had a drink.
Yesterday we weren't working, so we hired a boat for a few hours and had a little trip along the water first thing in the morning. When we arrived it was empty. By the time our boat trip was over it was really busy so we chose the best timings. We then collected our glass makes and my friends headed home from there. It was such a nice weekend.
It wasn't too expensive too as the costs were shared between us all for most things.
Now back to work again which I always find difficult after such a lovely and fun weekend with friends.
