There is nothing in this post that says he hasn't spoken to his daughter about this, she isnt the one claiming the child benefit and maybe he wouldn't want to drag his daughter into the middle of a disagreement between parents about money.GrumpyDil said:Is it only me who finds it really sad that the OP doesn't seem able to speak to his daughter about this?LBM Debt Total : £48,326.50

Agreed, there isn't but surely if contact was made they would at least talk about college/school etc.

Thanks Poppy. I am chatting with her now which is great, and she has told me she hasn’t been home since her birthday in early Sept. she’s living at her bf’s but I suspect her mail is still going to her mums. Is this classed as her moving out? I’d rather pay my daughter direct than give it to her mum, who is spending it on herself. My daughter won’t do it as she’s frightened of her mum. I may contact CMS and check whether this situation constitutes her not living at home any more.poppy12345 said:dad75 said:If that doesn’t work then all I can do is report the mother to the DWP for child benefit fraud which should then trigger a letter to the CMS.
DWP do not deal with child benefit. That's part of HMRC.0 -

Just because her mail is still going to her mum's doesn't mean she's living there. If she's not living there and her mother is still claiming child benefit for her, then she shouldn't be.
