So, I think that's a definite no on the Nebosh, especially if I consider bang for my buck.

At the moment I think I need to hit the search engines to see if there are any other options for something 'general'. Otherwise I think I'm heading towards something like CIPS level 4 that matches my work experience or something of a similar standard

Where I work unless in a specific  h&s role then  Iosh managing safely is the more common requirement  for management level roles.

Given the huge number of free courses, it might be worth investigating those before paying for one which might or might not help your career. At least with a free course you can try it for a while to see if you enjoy it/can see any career advantages to taking the subject further. Try:

    https://alison.com
    https://www.open.edu/openlearn/

Also check on your local library's website - many have a lot of free online courses.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Not necessarily, just go in with open eyes and realistic expectations. I'm sure you will do fine and may even enjoy it.

The iosh managing safely is worthy of further investigation, at first glance it doesn't look too expensive.

The free options are also worth looking at depending on what's available.
