Can I withdraw from retention fixed term product before start date?

I have recently arranged a new fixed term mortgage with my partner with Barclays via L&C. My current term ends this month so the new retention product should start then. My circumstances have now changed such that entering into a new fix is no longer a preferred option - relationship breakdown.

Is there anything I can do to withdraw as the new term hasn't actually started yet or do I need to chalk this one up to experience?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Barclays should let you cancel. Contact them or your Broker tomorrow.
