in Cutting tax
I’ve made a big boo boo.
I do deliveries in my spare time to supplement my income. Have always done a self assessment to keep my nose clean although I don’t earn much
This year although I got reminders I never got round to doing one. My fault, just laziness and forgetfulness. Now I’ve got a late payment demand of £1200! I barely even earn that in a year via this income.
Will they take pity on me and reduce it?

Get the return filed asap to avoid further penalties, pay anything owed (tax, NI etc) and appeal against the penalty.
You have nothing to lose and £1,200 to gain1
