Daughters' Names off our joint account

My husband and I added our girls to our UK HSBC bank account when they decided to move back to the UK from Malta. It meant they had access to funds without any issues of not having a regular income to opening their own account.
After many years their names are still on our account, they do not have cards but they are able to access the account via internet banking. For us this is not an issue as our girls are trustworthy and have their own funds and accounts now.
However, if their accounts we compromised then ours are too at risk. We have asked many different people at HSBC about resolving this but the sticking point is that we all have to attend a local branch together... ideal if we are all living in the same country. One daughter is in Malta and the other is in the RAF based in Oxford, we are in the North West! But we still have to go to a branch in the UK, they cannot attend branches local to themselves and sign a form or letter.
We have tried going down the switching route, same issue there as their names are on the account they have to sign. The same with closing the account. How on earth do we get this resolved? Please can someone offer a solution, otherwise we'll have to transfer all funds out to another bank and manually cancel and set up all our direct debits!

You've already mentioned the solution, just open a new bank account, and close that one.
Its pretty simple to change bank details with companies, takes a few mins or so out of your day, but its not difficult to do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Just open another account at HSBC in your names and transfer the DD's and funds over.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.1

I'd move to another bank and pick up a bonus at the same time.
