A family member going to university this month tried to set up his student account.
It was declined because they said he had a mortgage.
After doing a credit search we found that it had a mortgage on it.

He has only just turned 18 and obviously never had a mortgage.
How does he get it removed?

Thanks

It depends upon how it's ended up on his credit file.   Is it there due to fraud or is it mis-collated data by the CRA?
First step would be to contact the Credit Reference Agency and tell them it shouldn't be there, what you do from there depends upon how they respond.

Also, check all Credit Reference Agencies to see if it's on all of them or just the one.
