Hairdresser mucked up bleached hair

Hello everyone,
I need some advice please.
I went to a supposed excellent salon near where I live.I have bleached hair and needed my roots done.A Director/Educator did my hair colour and I expected for £170 ( this was colour alone) my hair would look excellent.Instead,I’ve been left with what looks like ginger banding and it’s really noticeable as I have pixie hair.
I have contacted the salon numerous times and stated the issue. They brought me in and put a toner in my hair which helped but only lasted a few days.
Its coming up to a month now since it was done and they’re going to correct it this Tuesday.Obviously it’s not seen as urgent as what hairdresser would allow their client to walk around with such a bad hair colour for a month?
As they’ve left it for so long to fix I’ve now got black root, ginger banding and a tiny amount of platinum on my ends.
When I spoke to them I stated I am not happy paying for this correction as it’s their fault and £170 is a lot for a shockingly bad colour with the second from top colour expert. They have offered to do it for half price which id still £85.
Should I refuse to pay for this? The issue is the guy who cut my hair done a fab job and I still want to go to him.
Suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!

I had a similar issue about 15 years ago & contacted Trading Standards for advice. Can't remember what was said but I would recommend calling them.

Ok - I'm a dentist (Well, I pretend to be on here!) but I do have a sister who became a very qualified hairdresser, and as well as an awful lot of 'Experimental' hair dos whilst she was training (Although it was the 80s, so got away with most of them!!) I did pick up that having too much done to the hair too close together can REALLY muck things up big time!

So it may not be that they didn't consider it urgent - more like they needed your hair to recover from one assault before drowning it in more chemicals.

The rest of the customer service doesn't sound that brilliant though - but if you want to keep that particular hairdresser, it does sound like you have a bit of a dilemma.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
