I am hoping someone can help me.
We are looking at obtaining a mortgage and have a M.I.P from my bank, we approached a mortgage advisor who has taken us so far however has advised we hold for six months due to the following
Credit Card Default - applied Jan 17 due to drop off credit report Jan 23.
Loan Default - applied Sep 19 ( unknown to me, will discuss this with lender)
Pay day loan - taken out May settled the following month in full.
These were not identified on the soft search my bank undertook at the time of the MIP. However having spoken to them, they have suggested it would be down to the underwriter as to if they would lend to us. The mortgage is for £245K with a £30K deposit, we can stretch to £40K.
My question is would a hard search at present eg proceed with banks mortgage application, further damage my credit report? Is it worth trying the bank or just waiting for the six months?
Thanks
