Kantar "Safer Streets" survey claiming to be on behalf of Home Office, genuine or SCAM?

Have now received 3 mail shots from a company called Kantar claiming to be researching on behalf of the Home Office into Safer Streets and offering a £5.00 gift voucher for everyone who takes part in the survey, thing is the whole lot has a strange feel about it, it's wording is strange and I can find anything on the Home Office website that even mentioned the company? I have seen previous posts on MSE forum about the company and other surveys they have supposedly conducted but no feedback about them? I'd like to take part as it's a subject I'd like to comment on, anyone completed this survey?

Kantar are a huge survey company - they manage the Royal Mail postal survey for one - and do carry out a lot of surveys for government departments, the "Safer Streets Fund" comes up as one of them..

Some time ago I did a Kantar online crime survey, which was also on behalf of the Home Office. It seemed legit and I got a £5 Amazon voucher for my trouble.

The Royal Mail monitoring surveys are run by Kantar. They are a legitimate company.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

There's some info about Safer Streets here, seems to look legitimate -

and a government explanation about using Kantar -

I use two weekly consumer apps that are run by Kantar and have done for years.   They are a legit company and have never not paid me.
  • As I said in a previous post be very careful with sites run by Kantar. Yes, when your doing surveys and your lucky enough to get one from the government asking how you would vote etc, or even better those well paying ones from TFL it great for points, but that's half the journey, Kantar will decide in the end if you get paid. All you can do is hope for the best. Kantar, do not give a stuff because they can get away with it. Cash out as soon as you can so the loss isn't so great when they lock you out.
