Can I start training in my own time whilst working notice

I work part time and have found a new job. I have a months notice period. I have 2 hours free in the morning  before my current job starts so, whilst I’m working notice, can I start training for the new job - it doesn’t affect my current work hours, I’d be doing it in my own time.

By training I assume you mean paid on the job training with the new employer so unless your current contract specifically prohibits you working for another employer you can pretty much do what you like in your own time.

Do it and say nothing to your current employer.
  • Since you've resigned, this firmly falls into the 'what's the worst that could happen' bracket.  Answer: nothing much!
