I'm not sure the exact details of this particular bonus, but I know how previous bonusses like this have been paid because my friends husband has been working there for several years and is now a lower manager.
Usually, they divide bonusses over a period of time (two years is common I think) so you get a proportion in each wage over that period. Remember it's taxable, so over two years it would be less than £9 a week. Not to be sniffed at but don't be daft enough to expect then to give him £1,000 and he leaves three weeks later. And the staff turnover is HUGE - many do not last more than a few weeks and lasting only a day isn't uncommon. It is hard, fast paced work.
That said (and I am not a fan of Amazon as an employer or as a retailer for all sorts of reasons) I would have to be honest and say that my friends husband speaks highly of the work and the terms (although he'll tell you it hard work) and has has good progression since joining them. So it isn't for everyone, but if you can hold your own then it can be good.2 -
Thanks, that’s great0
