Late today.. we have just returned from our visit to Milton Keynes for Aimee's birthday. Yesterday was hectic and noisy. We arrived just after 11am and left at the back of 3pm to find our hotel for the night. There was a bouncy castle which kept the children entertained, they were still on it when the chap came to take it down. It was noisy, grand children and great grandchildren were there was well as adults, parents etc. Very nice buffet lunch although we left before the cake was cut, but we had both had enough.
We enjoyed supper at the hotel, DB has fish and chips, he said the batter was lovely and light. I had sausage and mash. The room was clean and comfortable, although I need to remember in future to book a large bed!! Scrambled egg for breakfast and then a stroll round the village, some lovely properties very well maintained. We called at a church whick has been used as a mortuary chapel, but was now a very pleasant and atmospheric museum. Lots of information there.
Lunch was also excellent, they catered for two of our party who were on keto diets, it was very well cooked and excellent.
We set off to return home just after 2pm and although the M1 was busy we walked in the house at 3.45pm so not a bad journey.6
