This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning all
A very early start for me having only had about an hours sleep, no matter I will catch up later at some point.
Taxi is coming in an hour we are all packed and ready and just having a cuppa, I need at least two cups of tea in the mornings to wake me up.
We will get something to eat at the airport before we fly as its too early to eat now.
I will see you all in two weeks I am taking my tablet but not sure how good the wifi will be, its normally quite bad there.
Take care xxx

Morning All
Happy holidays Ruby, you'll probably be there by now!
No sunshine this morning but it's dry and fine, yesterday was lovely and sunny again - sorry Gers!
Enjoyed going to Glasgow yesterday, bought myself and the little one some new trainers but no Fitbit, they didn't have the one I was looking for so will probably order one online. It was lovely to see and hear the buskers out along Buchanan Street, felt like the pandemic hasn't happened.
The traffic on the way back was horrendous, an English Bank Holiday weekend and day trippers made for a long slow journey. Just made it back in time to go for a swim, the little one was in fine form showing me where she went under the water the day before, pointing at the steps and coughing. Thankfully she stayed above the water this time.
Just off for a swim in the Loch with some friends, should be calm and peaceful before the jet skiers get going.
Hugs to those not doing so well, missing Nelski, tru and Marie.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks for the very early start RUBY. Have a wonderful 2 weeks away and enjoy every minute.
Yesterday was hot and sunny so I went out back to make a start on cutting the dead stuff back and never even got started! I thought I'd have a few minutes sitting in the sunshine first and never moved. Oh well there is always today as no sun is forecast, just warm and cloudy.
DD and family got back from the Lakes last night and had thoroughly enjoyed their week up there. Even the weather was kind to them and the day of the wedding was perfect so the ceremony could take place by the lakeside as planned. Today they are setting off for a quick few days at the van before school and all the dancing classes start. I wish I had DD's energy she never stops.
The excitement of my day is a Tesco delivery this afternoon! It's much needed as the fruit bowl is empty and the fridge almost as bare as Mother Hubbard's cupboard! I have a choice of jobs including a pile of ironing but I may end up doing nothing and have a Slothful Sunday instead.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and MIA. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Morning folks.Camelot - there was a bad accident at Luss which closed the road in both directions for hours, traffic backed up for miles. The sun finally made an appearance here around midday and stayed for most of the rest of the day until late evening. My washing load dried well even though there was hardly any breeze. The pink sky last night hinted at a fine day today but I doubt it'll happen.Clearing out my jumpers was good, I even found a 'lost' brooch which I'd been wondering about for ages so I'm doubly pleased. Later on I took a huge cardboard box to the tip, it was taking up the whole of my car's boot, I should have squashed it or cut it down but it was too sturdy for me to manage.TA - enjoy your Sunday of sloth, it may be in my future too!Happy Sunday to everyone.12

Morning all; looking grey here again.
Had a semi slothful day yesterday, although DH cut the grass and I cut back some of the buddleia and collected plums from the tree. Gave some to a passing neighbour and have just had a couple with my breakfast.
Today I'm hosting a music session in a park in Bedford. No idea who will turn up; it could be many or few but I'm sure a good time will be had by all. There's a small cafe further along the path for refreshments and the weather looks like staying dry. Our neighbour is taking his classic car to a nearby event so DH may go along to that whilst I'm out.
There's a new series starting at 9pm on BBC1 tonight so I've put that on to record and now I need to get going and make a few fairy cakes for Tuesday, as I won't have enough time to do them tomorrow.
Happy BH Sunday everyone.11 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Ruby and hugs to all those in need.
Still cold here, top temps 13°. Lazy day today, moving tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone
It's a beautiful morning here, warm and sunny so Steve has taken the dogs out before it gets too warm. I've just spent an hour Facetiming my sister and it was a pleasure to see her looking so well. She has a couple of weeks before her last (hopefully) round of Chemo and then she can recover enough to enjoy Christmas with the family.
Asda are delivering our Sunday dinner I hope so I am keeping an ear out for the doorbell as I booked a saver slot between 11-3 but they have been known to come earlier. We are having roast pork and I would like lots of crackling as well. I will ask Steve to cook lots of veg to go with it too. There may be apple pie and custard to follow if there is room.
Jemima and the grandkids are coming to see me this afternoon which will be lovely. It won't be long before they are all back at school so I like to make the most of their visits.
I still have lots of crustless quiche left over so I don't have to worry about lunch for me. I am looking for some different soup recipes though as I fancy a change from our usuals and I want to reinstate soup and pudding days when the weather cools a bit.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Hi everyone,
Wicked Lady, enjoy your music event. We used to be very involved with the youth music scene in Bedfordshire with Laura playing violin and flute and Chris playing Cello. Steve helped set up the Trust when the County Council stepped down their provision and he used to record the orchestra and band concerts.
Chris and Crystal came over for a barbecue last night, we had delicious steak, salad and fries and then we took Ziggy for a walk, it was lovely to see them.
Cooking today methinks. I want to do a batch of broccoli and cashew pesto for Esben and then probably a batch of Bolognaise for us.
Have a good day.10
