Should anyone be wanting to do this, it appears PensionBee is the place to go. There are possibly 1 or 2 others, but this seems far the easiest.

You mean a negative recommendation rather than no recommendation? Individual still needs to pay for advice.

There are at least two other transfer against advice routes:

1. Standard Life provided the adviser is willing to do the transfer.
2. Setting up a small self-administered scheme, there are businesses which do the grunt ant managing work for you.

1. And there’s the rub, given that the adviser is likely to have been motivated to provide a recommendation not to transfer by fear of incurring a claim liability, the likelihood of him then facilitating the transfer against advice must be vanishingly small.

2. As long as the adviser makes clear  at the outset that the final decision rests with the client and there is a road forward against advice, but the client has to provide not only the tarmac but the steamroller as well, that seems fair.
