it depends on what the child is doing in uni

if its is FURTHER education of less than 16 hours (maybe 14) per week then you are still liable to pay until their 19th birthday.

if it is HIGHER education then you no longer have to pay.

the cut off dates for payments are

19th birthday if at uni as above
1st sept after 16th/17th or 18th birthday in all other cases. ie leave school/drop out.

    simone
    63 mortgage payments to go.

Thanks for your support Tran & Jockettuk

Her doctor has seen the evidence of the abuse many times, but fear has detered her from pressing charges, i have no doubt that her doctor would therefore help her in any way possible. We're off to the CAB office today so hopefully they will also confirm what you have said and put her slightly more at ease.

Thanks again for your help x

Hi I have never been on this sight before, but my ex left 10 years ago and i have just received my 1st csa payment. What i am concerned about is i work part time and get tax credits and a little rent and council tax benefit, do i have to notify all partys? does this count as income as it is back payments.
    Thank you for your help:confused:

CSA payments have never been used as income for tax credits. Until October last year, they were used as income for housing benefit and council tax benefit. I would suggest giving the council a quick phone tomorrow just to clarify as you are saying these are back payments.

p.s this is a really old thread!! If you have any other queries, best to start a brand new thread :)
