O/S Daily Thursday 26 August 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light but cloudy.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was spatchcock piri-piri chicken with pasta in a creamy tomato sauce and veg rice. Tonight not sure, but possibly be egg, bacon, beans and chips.
Yesterday work was busy.and today is likely to be the same.
Elderly relative still in hospital, now appears to be a waiting game for someone to make a decision.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
It's so warm this morning, just been for a walk and had to cast off my hoodie. It's overcast but the sun should shine later.
I picked some sweetcorn from the allotment yesterday, it was so good - not sure I'm going to share it with anyone! I also brought home some onions to dry, those I will share.
Have a great time with your DD dp1, bet you're really excited to see her.
Get well soon dumpling, hope you get some answers as to why this keeps happening to you.
No washing to do today but must have a hoover round later, those dust bunnies are multiplying again with having the windows open.
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks.I'm lingering under my duvet a bit longer this morning after two very early starts this week. Yesterday I had a parcel to return, the delivery office does the scan and print label thing now so I was there first thing. Then I went up to Oban again as I had loaded the car with three bags of books and one bag of table linen etc. and had an order to collect from Marks. The fog soon burnt off and the sun came out blazing again.Once back home I packed up more books so there's three more bags of them to go out, I'll take them with me when I go to Glasgow next week. Moving the books showed up the huge amount of dust behind them so that got tackled too.The computer repair engineer phoned to say he's managed to de-egg the innards of my laptop without having to replace any expensive parts 😀 so I'll collect it next week.Today the fog is thick again so I'm hoping for more burn off. The forecast shows good weather until next week when it gets dreary again. For now I'll be pottering around, putting stuff away still.I need to compile a series of photos of DM to project on a wall during the celebration in late September, it'll take me a while to find them and then decide on which to choose and then get them in order. I'm not sure if I'll do a chronological order or just mix them all up. As the group will be family, friends and colleagues I don't want to bore anyone but surprise and delight them so probably a mix up will be best. Now it's time to send my thoughts to poorlies and missing people. Happy Thursday to all.13

Morning all.
Quick visit from me today as I'm off to do grandson care soon, about a 30 minute drive away. DH is still relaxing(!) in bed so I'll take him up a cuppa before I leave. Have to be back here at lunchtime though as I've booked a 1pm music session.
Our new patio finally got sealed yesterday, after being cancelled at the weekend due to the rain. We won't walk on it until tomorrow so no washing to hang out today then!

Hi everyone,
dp1, have a lovely time with DD.
Steve had a text at midnight from the bank saying they suspected fraud on the credit card. I wouldn't let him text back even though it seemed kosher, you hear about so many scams. He rang the fraud number and it does seem as if someone has got hold of his details so they cancelled his card. Of course it took a while to get to sleep after that, he was planning to go to golf early but has decided to leave it for now.
I had a horrible migraine on Monday, I managed to keep it under control while I was looking after Esben but when I was driving home it came on with a vengeance and I could only totter up to bed to lie down when I got home. I seem to be getting them cyclically which is annoying because I thought I'd got over that when I went through the menopause.
I hope all the poorlies are as well as can be expected especially dumpling. Have a good day.11 -
Morning all wet here this morning when we walked the dogs and set to be cloudy all day was up with the lark which was lucky as i was in a deep sleep but I was dreaming I was having afternoon tea with the queen not sure what that's about. We are hoping the travel announcement will come today so we can book our holiday it was hoped that it would be last night but I think there is a lot going on elsewhere not too worry its trivial compared to some in the world right now we can wait for a while.
DP1 have a wonderful trip to see DD
Snoozer hope you are feeling a bit better I never had migraines until after I had the children they are awful and there is nothing you can do once they start
Dumpling Hope you are doing ok and they get to the root of the problem
Nels I miss your posts and hope that you are doing ok
Right better get on . Have a great day whatever you are up to stay safe x

morning, I must get dressed soon as a friend is dropping some books off and the physio is coming later to help with my mobility problems. I am now officially poor as I have just paid for my recent new toilet installation and also had a heating oil delivery yesterday which will need paying!
Glad your computer has been de-egged Gers, my laptop is on its last legs but I can manage with the I pad10 -

Dull here and just started to drizzle it will be a soggy dog walk later ! The wm is on but it will have to go in the TD once its done.
I am off to my sisters later and taking mum with me, it was my sisters Birthday at the weekend and her present has only just turned up so I will take it over to her, I will stop on the way and buy cake or them and some kind of carb free snack for me.
DW needs empying and i shall have a hoover through then get the dogs out, come back and shower and then head over.
I need to pull something out of the freezer for dinner I think there is a pie for OH and a veggie one for dd I will have some fish I think with veg.
Have good days all xx11 -
Morning, hugs if you need one.
Another grey morning, the sun keeps trying to come through and then gives up. Yesterday was freezing, I ended up putting the heating on I was so cold. Cue DB complaining he was hot!!
No plans for today, no news re neighbour, her son is in talks with the powers that be about getting her help when she does come home.
Doubtless DB will be in the garden again this morning, gardener is here tomorrow, so hopefully starting to cut back bushes etc, will also soon be emptying the big pots which are beginning to go over now, the lobelia has taken over in a couple of them. I really need to get out and take some cuttings, will see how I go today.
Supper tonight will be casseroled beef and veg, the beans are going crazy in the garden just now, we will soon look like a bean. There is just enough Caramelle for dessert.8 -
Morning all, a lovely day here with a bit of a breeze. Sending hugs to the poorly people and the missing.Dog walked, washing about to be put in, might even get some dry outside today. Our farmer friends funeral went ok, lots of people there. The family had to try 3 different churches to get the capacity wanted, the local one near them is only small and would only let 30 in. DH popped to work afterwards.DS2 is having his housewarming bbq on Saturday, he popped into our butchers and ordered kebabs etc. to collect on Sat. When he told him his name, the butcher said ' oh you must be *****'s son
Nice to know I'm not just a random face
DS has been finishing jobs off this week in the house and asked if I'd help with a bit of a clean after DGS footie on Saturday morning but I might go today then I'm not rushing to get ready for the bbq, I'll see. Thinking about it I still have some kebabs in the freezer, might have some for tea.
Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Hi everyone,
I woke at 4.30 this morning so I went back t bed at 8 for another couple of hours sleep. Then we went to the new Lidl in the next town, it's opposite the M & S where I often shop so I'm a happy bunny now I don't have to go in opposite directions. We still get the 20% discount at M & S even though Steve has retired, one of the assistants told us they now limit it to 5 years after retirement but luckily there's no limit for us. I tell him he can't die and take my discount with him.
We seem to be a bit short of people at the moment - is Monna around,I haven't seen her for a while, or nannywindow.
Have a good rest of the day all.4
