Doubt anyone would get a MT card with a 15k+ limit, if OP is desperate not to get a mortgage, then getting a bridging loan might be the only sensible option. More expensive than a mortgage of course but if OP wants to throw away money on higher interest that's their prerogative.

Yes, crime happens all the time but I'm not sure encouraging people to do it is really a wise thing to do.

Fraud isn't a crime?  That's news to me.

And you couldn't report it as a member of the general public, it would need to be reported by the victim (the bank.). But given the Police's lacking response to all things fraud, I would fully expect the response you mentioned, because they don't give a twit about fraud.

Loan fraud can get you CIFAS markers stuck on your file for 6 years and stop lenders ever considering you again. You confuse a criminal act with something with civil consequences. Advising people to commit loan fraud is not only a terrible idea, also is against the forum rules
