Mortgage with an electrical substation?
se2020
Just viewed a property that has an electrical substation within it's plot.
Not close to the house but it is on one side of the driveway. Access for the electrical company is presumably via the driveway of the property.
The agents have no idea where the underground supply cables are but potentially they are under the property as well.
It is not an issue for me personally but am I likely to encounter any problems getting a standard residential mortgage on this place?
Thanks!

I wouldn't have thought so (assuming you don't mean massive transformers/pylons towering over the house)0

Can you give us the Rightmove ref pleaseNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

It I surrounded by 6' fence panels and below the level of those, 12' x 12' so it's only a local one rather than a massive thing.
Irrelevant now as the agent has just rang to say they have had an offer £25k over our asking price offer so I'm out anyway!
Thanks for the replies so far though

I am hard of hearing and do not hear higher frequencies very well but lower frequencies are now much more noticeable than before.I think with more electrical/telecom equipment becoming part of the street furniture more and more people will be noticing this.Living next to a sub station is something I could not do.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. Unless you go off grid you can't really complain about electricity supply. Small distribution substations are local to the users in the street, and with more electricity being used for heating and transport its going to increase.0

Do not see why you have to go off grid before you can have an opinion. When we purchased our present property one of the things we made sure of was we were not near a sub station so the drone did not affect us.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0
