What Small DFW Things Will You Do This Week 23/08/21?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks
Welcome to the thread @rigarella! I hope you join us again this week.
@jadewest94 - I would say grow things you like to eat! I started in the garden and you can grow a fair few bits but it will always be bits - you need a fair amount of space to grow lots. @DawnW grows a lot in her garden so can give you some ideas. Also if you borrow the book "Self sufficient-ish" by Dave and Andy Hamilton, there's lots on growing in small spaces in there (and lots of other fab ideas too).
I keep starting off with good intentions to post and then the week seems to get so hectic! We were moving offices last week and I swear that I didn't sit down for 3 days. We moved the heaviest cupboards in the world too (honest, I think they were over 100kg each as it took 3 of us to even lift it).
OH wasn't gigging on Friday so we went to Llandudno for the day. We had a nice time strolling around, squeezing yarn in Ewe Felty Thing and eating ice creams. Went to a place for lunch that gave us the biggest portion of chips each I've even seen. e only ate half and so I brought them home. A frittata each laster and the rest are in the freezer.
Generally pootling about at the weekend. Painted the bathroom (finally) and it looks nice. I'm pleased with myself. Also did the budget sheet - def a flush month! Also stared knitting a scarf for OH with squishy skein he chose and binge-watched Arne and Carlos. Nipped to the allotment. Pumpkins are big beyond all belief. People coming to look at the them from other plots. Also one of the plot holders have quails so we went to look at them. They are just TOO cute. OH was nearly overcome with cuteness (he really likes birds).
Today's small things:Washing pegged out on the line. It smells funky. Machine smells ok weirdly and ran a 90 deg wash at the weekend so who knows?
Gym done at 6am - techincallly this is free this week as was oly paid up until the middle of the month. Clearly not being charge for the last hurrah. Last wod is Sat
WFH
B/L/D from stores
Make dinner. Going to be curry and I can use up some of the marrow that we were kindly gifted at the allotment.
Have a good day all

Been bad recently at doing the little things. I think when the big bills keep rolling in the little things have taken a bit of a back seat. So in an attempt to take back some control I am making my lunch at home rather than my usual supermarket meal deal when I am in the office.YNWA

Welcome @Niv
sometimes building habits one at a time is the best thing. Get one under your belt then work on the next.
Ok this is a SERIOUS update. My work have told me that my mission today is to go round haberdashery stores.

Hello, hope you don't mind if I join you. I need to be more accountable for some of the big things as well as the little things. The main focus of today and probably this week is general tidying, sorting stuff out and cleaning. It's easier to have my head in the sand about what I'm spending when everything around me is a mess, so I need to get organised.4

@Bagpuss741 your comment about the cat food made me laugh
I have two cats, one who eats anything and everything including birds
and my other cat who's the oldest but he's so fussy one day he will decide he will like dry biscuits and the next he looks at me like I've given him a grain of rice and refuses to eat it
