I normally just click on the accept the terms and conditions box. Does not clicking on the other marketing ones affect your chances in any way?

No it shouldn't do, unless it is required.
I always try not to check any newsletters or anything, I already get bombarded enough with those you are made to.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.2 -

I ALWAYS indicate a big fat 'no' to both of those, unless it is something that I'd really like to hear more about or a comp you enter by signing up for their newsletter.
It should make no difference to whether you are included in the comp or not, although some smaller companies may break the rules. I have to say I’ve been really lucky with wins & it seems to have made no difference whatsoever to my chances by always opting out where I can. It just means that I end up with less spam & on less junk mail lists"

I won a nice prize a few weeks ago and I had opted out of their marketing. If it is run legitimately, it should make no difference. Comps are mainly run for promotional purposes and the prize offered is what they pay for that promotion. So it shouldn't really make any difference to the comp host who they award the prize to, certainly not enough for them to risk breaking the rules for, anyway.
