    Wouldn't do that. I can train someone and offer a contractor rate at night.

    Wouldn't do what?  If you would offer a contractor rate you are doing precisely what is suggested above.  Contractor rate will almost certainly be more than the rate when employed by the company, therefore 'inflated rate'.
