NHBC Buildmark warranty wasn't activated?

Could anyone advise me please of where in the process of buying a new build home the NHBC Buildmark warranty should be activated and whose responsibility it usually is to do this?
If it was mine and I somehow managed to miss this when I completed then that's fine and I'll gladly admit the mistake, but I was certainly never directly advised to do this. It has just come to light that my house has been without warranty for the last six months, only by chance of me calling them about an issue.
Thank you

Assuming that all NHBC inspections etc were completed and their cover note issued, the NHBC website states that the purchaser's solicitor has to confirm completion date and accept the policy. https://www.nhbc.co.uk/homeowners/purchaserssolicitorguidelines
So you need to speak to your solicitor. Not something that you are expected to do personally.2
