It isn't that simple, just being a director doesn't require it, the link you provide confirms that..
it depends, in some cases, such as high dividend amounts e.t.c

above shows you need to register just being a company director

You have misinterpreted that, there is no need to register for Self Assessment just because you are a company director.

If you are a company director and owe money, for example from dividends that increase your tax liability, or hit any of the other criteria for Self Assessment such as liability for the High Income Child Benefit Charge, then you need to register.

Let’s be 100% clear here Dale.

Halifax (as most lenders) require last 2 years tax calculations and corresponding tax year overviews to consider incomes of a Company Director. The only exception is where that Company Director owns less than 25% of the business.

Therefore to progress with Halifax you need this documents. You do not have them for your wife as self assessment SA100 returns have not been completed for her.

It is common for Accountants not to complete SA100s if the Directors only income is PAYE. You will occasionally find Accountants who submit SA100s anyway.

    Your options are:

    1. Have your Accountant submit SA100s for 20192020 and 20202021 for you wife and within a few days you will have the tax calculations and tax year overviews you need.

    2. Swop to a Lender that will not insist on the tax calculations and tax year overviews ( there are some who will work from an accountants reference)

  • Thanks for that.

I would rather stick with Halifax as everything else has passed including the hard credit search and the valuation.

I was trying to do the sa100s online but there is no option once signed in, instead it says she has to register for sa.
