Senior underwriter referral?

Both Husband & myself are Company Directors and 50/50 shareholders of our Ltd Company. Affordability is fine according to Mortgage Advisor although they seemed a little concerned that the company has done so well in the last year & were questioning sustainability - which we have no concerns about whatsoever. Our Company has gone from strength to strength in 2 years!
The other thing the underwriters questioned was my husbands payments to a debt management plan that ended 6 years ago in 2 months! (2006-2015) his finances have been great since. We provided answers for their questions & it has now gone to Senior underwriters for approval....is this normal or should we be worried? Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Thanks

Underwriters have the authority to issue offers on behalf of the lender. Depending on the circumstances of your case it will be passed higher up the chain of command for approval.1

Pretty normal for self employed cases to get a senior underwriter to look at them and verify the initial underwriters decision1
